The Miniature Bernedoodle is a combination of the Miniature/Toy Poodle and the Bernese Mountain Dog. There are many advantages to crossing these dog breeds, one of which is the decreased shedding based on the presence of the Poodle. Another benefit of the Mini Bernedoodle is the decreased size compared to the Standard Bernedoodle, making it more suitable for people who want this type of dog, but do not have space for a large dog breed.
Miniature Bernedoodles are active dogs requiring a moderate amount of exercise. Despite their activity level, they are adaptable and can thrive in various living environments, including apartments or homes with small yards.
The Mini Bernedoodle should be a generally healthy dog, as long as proper attention has been paid to the health of the parents. The Bernese is known for having some health issues in regards to their joints (hips, elbows, etc), which are common in large dog breeds. The most common health problem for the Poodle is Addison’s Disease, or chronic adrenal insufficiency.
